LOTUS NOTES Aunthentication

Splash Logon for Lotus Notes provides a complete solution for strong authentication specifically designed to protect access to Lotus Notes. With tokens and smart cards that store Lotus Notes ID-file, passphrase and biometric data, and tight integration with Lotus Notes, Splash Logon for Lotus Notes lets you easily and cost-effectively eliminate the password risk.

Splash Logon for Lotus Notes performs high level user authentication, ensuring that only authorized users can access Lotus Notes data and resources. The Key Storage Device (KSD), i.e. USB flash disk, smart card or USB token, and biometric verification let Splash Logon for Lotus Notes provide the high level of privacy and security, which are of primary importance in such groupware applications like Lotus Notes.

When Splash Logon for Lotus Notes is enabled, logon routines prompt for your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the smart card or token in place of your Notes password. By adding Dekart Logon for Lotus Notes, you can implement a 3-factor authentication to Lotus Notes including something you know (your PIN), something you have (Lotus Notes User ID file and the smartcard/ USB token) and something you are (your biometric identifiers).

Logon for Lotus Notes employs state-of-the-art authentication methods, so even if the KSD (smart card or USB token) is lost or stolen, accessing the login information becomes almost impossible. The Logon for Lotus Notes securely stores the user's ID file and password on the USB token or smart card instead of on the hard drive, preventing them from possible interception.

Ease of use and additional security are achieved through activating the program lock feature. When the user removes the USB token or smart card from their computer, Logon for Lotus Notes can automatically lock the Lotus Notes workspace. This security feature enhances the safety of your network. Logon for Lotus Notes is fully interoperable with other Dekart Software applications. This means that you can employ the same USB token or smart card for a number of security solutions.

Features and Benefits

Three factor authentication

Users can be positively identified for access to Lotus Notes resources via a wide range of digital identity credentials and devices (PIN code protected USB token or smart card, biometric verification)

Automatic Lotus Notes locking

The system is configured to automatically lock the Lotus Notes console. When you enter a Lotus Notes session using Dekart Logon for Lotus Notes, the following extra features are activated:

removing the USB token or smart card triggers a program lock event
the lock console feature requires a valid PIN submission, the KSD (USB token or smart card), and biometric verification to re-enter your Lotus Notes session

User PIN authorization.

A logon PIN can be designated to each USB token or smart card. This PIN can be periodically changed if the user wishes to maintain a higher level of security.

Extended passwords for Lotus Notes users.

The USB token or smart card permits the user to define a long random password, ensuring a higher level of security.

Personalization by enabling the user to assign a unique user name for each USB token or smartkey.

Logon for Lotus Notes supports multiple users on a single network by allowing the operator to assign individual names to various USB token or smart card.

This way, it is possible to monitor and control security in a multi-user environment.
